Underwear is a delicate garment — and with proper care, you can significantly extend its life. It’s not just how you wash it that matters, but also how you dry and store it. Here are a few of our tips to help you care for your MyUnds pieces, so you can enjoy their comfort and quality even longer.
We recommend hand-washing your underwear using a gentle detergent (you can try one specifically made for lingerie). Start by soaking your bralet or briefs for a few minutes, then gently cleanse each part of the fabric — ideally by swirling it around in the water to mimic a washing machine’s motion. Avoid scrubbing fabric against fabric. If you choose to use a washing machine, make sure the water temperature doesn’t exceed 30°C — your lingerie and the environment will thank you. Washing at high temperatures can cause colours to fade. Avoid high-speed spin cycles as well. Always fasten the hooks on your bralet before washing, and place your underwear in a protective laundry bag, case, or laundry ball to help it retain its shape and softness.
Dry your lingerie by laying or hanging it flat at room temperature to protect the fibres and preserve the colour. If you need to iron it, use a warm iron at a maximum temperature of 100°C. Store your lingerie folded neatly or rolled — not tossed loosely into a drawer or basket, as friction from daily wear and movement can shorten its lifespan. Keep in mind that some stretching around the band is a natural process and can’t be avoided.
